On-Campus Resources
Anti-Violence Initiatives
Anti-Violence Initiatives (AVI) offers confidential counseling and support services for students who have been directly or indirectly impacted by power-based personal violence (i.e. sexual assault, domestic/dating violence, and stalking).
Mental Health Services (MHS)
Mental Health Services (MHS) provides group counseling, workshops, brief individual counseling, and referral services to TCNJ students. Services are confidential; no record of counseling appears on the student’s permanent academic record. MHS is staffed by a team of licensed mental health professionals as well as interns from both master’s and doctoral degree-granting programs, under direct supervision from licensed professionals.
Let’s Talk
The MHS Let’s Talk program provides easy access to informal, brief, consultation session with mental health professionals from TCNJ’s Mental Health Services (MHS). It is free and there is limited paperwork and no full intake assessment to complete to participate. Speaking with a therapist during Let’s Talk can help you access support, gain perspective, explore resources and options, and discuss how a referral to therapy might be helpful
Center for Integrative Wellness (CIW), NOT AVAILABLE FALL 2020
The Center for Integrative Wellness (CIW) is a newly-restructured training clinic and holistic health center that provides low-cost and longer-term mental health services to TCNJ’s students, faculty, staff, and community members. The training program draws upon graduate students from the Schools of Education, Nursing, Health and Exercise Science, and the Department of Public Health.
Collegiate Recovery Program
The College of New Jersey’s Collegiate Recovery Program (CRP) provides comprehensive supports to students in recovery from alcohol and/or other drugs. Lion’s House and the Collegiate Recovery Community (CRC), it is a community of students working towards growth, sobriety, and academic excellence. Lion’s House and the CRC is a place where students can actively work on recovery and positive change. RECreate Your Night is a program that provides students with healthy options for having fun. This program is open to all students. Having healthy options for recreation serves to reduce substance abuse and provide additional support to students in recovery.
Community Counseling Collaborative
The Community Counseling Collaborative (CCC) is a new Health and Wellness initiative at TCNJ to bring licensed mental health providers on campus to provide low-cost, longer-term mental health care to our students. Offices are located on the 4th floor of Forcina Hall, Suite 413-415. Access to services at the CCC can be coordinated through CAPS and the Dean of Students Office – but clinicians can also be contacted directly for appointment availability (see website).
